Darby's Freehouse

Converted into a pub in 1988 from a pair of cottages that originated in the 18th century and named after Mrs Ann Darby who was the last farmer to farm the site. Darby's is a solid-looking building with ivy covered front wall in the centre of Swanton Morley next to the Swanton Morley Butchers and stores.

The entrance leads into a spacious bar, which has a rustic feel created by beams, bricks and an inglenook with a log fire or flowers in the summer,and tractor seats as bar stools . Stripped pine tables and benches create a farmhouse feel. A large beer garden with childrens playground, seperate restaurant, function room catering for 50 with television for those sporting events, menus can be designed to suit palate & pocket.

The menu is changed regularly to include locally sourced seasonal produce,  The menu caters for vegetarian, vegan and children of all ages. A senior citizen menu is available on Tuesday (from £5.50), as well as "Monday special"  £5.50)a tasty and economical way to start the week. Wednesday is curry day selection of homemade curries with choices of different ingredients from(£7.00), Thursday is burger day with choices fo burgers and various toppings  from(£5.75) The beef dishes on offer are prepared from our own herd of rare breed White Park cattle, subject to availability  otherwise supplied by SM Butchers.

Beers are a fine selection, comprising regulars from Adnams Broadside & Best , Beeston Afternoon Delight, Woodfordes Wherry, as well as  guest ales. A short list of wines is reasonably priced available by the bottle or by the glass. We also have Darby's FT's which is wine , cans of lager & cider , mini casks of real ales to take home at very reasonable prices starting from 95pence.
